Snow

Building a snowman
Many adults groaned when they heard the forecast of a winter storm.  Children viewed the snow from a different perspective. The inches of wet snow accumulating on the playground meant that finally there was the opportunity for real winter fun. A type of fun that has escaped us for most of the winter months.

Hopefully, on this snow day, your child will get a lot of time to be outside. The "hard work" of walking through deep snow, pushing a huge snowball across the yard, and climbing up a hill in order to slide down again, will give you child much needed large motor exertion and fresh air. These activities will leave them feeling satisfied and exuberant.

I, on the other hand, will be pushing vast quantities of heavy snow across my driveway and will probably just grumble about tight muscles when I am through.

As in the classic fable of the blind men and the elephant, people can have a different perspective on the same subject.
