Weekly Summary: 1/31-2/3

This week I continued reading to myths to the class.  We moved from African myths to Asian myths.

In math, the children played a game to practice their money counting skill; they are getting ready for the Flea Market on Thursday, February 16.

Outside the children put their engineering skills to work constructing intersecting tunnels through the mounds of snow at the end of the parking lot.

The children started making a book about the phases of the moon.  On Thursday afternoon, Roxanne looked up and saw the moon was out during the day.  When she pointed it out to the other children, they all started chanting "waning moon, waning moon...".  It is great when the classroom's curriculum can be immediately applied to the real world.
