Our 4 day week turned into 3, as ice covered the area. Despite only being at school for 3 days, we got many things accomplished. The children continued working on organizing our book shelves, developing a system for cataloging our books.
We read another myth about the moon and the children composed their own moon myths. On Wednesday we read a story about Martin Luther King Sr. and Martin Luther King Jr.'s childhood. On Thursday we read about Rosa Parks refusing to give up her seat on the bus. On Friday, the children continued to work on creating an imaginary animal and it's habitat during, "Science with Shan".
We also had our weekly library time, and we ended the day Friday doing activities with our kindergarten buddies.
