We finished reading the second book in the Oz series by Frank Baum: The Marvelous Land of Oz. Many children were disappointed, that we are not reading the next book in the series, but it is time to move on. There are 2 copies of the 3rd book, Ozma of Oz, in the Summers Knoll library and the Ann Arbor Public library has copies of all 14 Oz books in their collection. Please don't hesitate to seize on the opportunity to continue reading.The next novel we will be reading is Paddle to the Sea by Holling Clancy Holling. In this book we will take a journey through the Great Lakes while we follow the adventures of a small wooden canoe set afloat in Lake Superior.
While we follow Paddle's voyage, we will be learning about maps and acquiring some knowledge of Michigan's history.
