The Science of Fingerprints

We have been talking about many ways we are unique individuals.  Today we learned that everyones  fingerprints are different.  The children looked at their own finger prints and those of their friends.  Tonight they will be taking parents finger prints and comparing them to their own.












First, each child traced their hand.  Then they used a pencil on an index card to make a very dark section to roll their fingers in.  After rolling a finger on the graphite, they used clear tape to pull off the print.  

 Tonight they will finish the chart they started in class this afternoon.
