Fun Run

If the first and second graders weren't tired on Friday night, nothing will wear them out.
In the morning, they went to the U of M Botanical Gardens.  A hike through the woods, a meditative walk around the Labyrinth and then a quick run,  and a very small drink from the drinking fountains (the water only came out a trickle).     Next a walk to the Children's Garden with more running, and then back to school for lunch.

After lunch, there were a few quiet moments, including Quiet Reading and Language classes.  Then it was back outside for Physical Education followed by a walk to County Farm Park for the 5 K Fun Run.  Before the upper grade students, parents, and some teachers took off for the 5 K, the kindergarteners, first, and second graders could choose to run twice around the playground.  Many did.  Then it was cheering for the runners and playing on the playground.

I'm tired just writing about it and I was not even one of the runners.

Congratulations to all the runners and thank you to Karl for organizing the event.
