In the News

In case you missed the local excitement, a mammoth's skull, and part of it's skeleton, was found in a farmer's field in Washtenaw County.

Today, we watch a short video about the excavation. Paleontologist from the University of Michigan, Daniel Fisher, talks about the find, what they know already about the mammoth and the hypotheses they are forming.

During our "Science time with Shan", we have been making hypothesis and setting up experiments to test our theories, so this was a perfect tie in. We will continue to follow this story to find out what the scientist learn about mammoths and early human history in Michigan from this discovery.
