Art and Literacy

Art went on without Tracy today.  Tracy was out sick, so I took the children to the Art Room to work on a project that combined Art and story telling.

Each child got a long strip of paper to tell a story on that turned into a scroll by taping a stick to each end.

There was quite a variety of stories. The story could be with pictures, writing, or a combination.

One child illustrated the old familiar tale, The 3 Bears, another told a true story about a family vacation.  There were a couple St. Patrick's day stories and some original fairy tales.  Everyone was very engaged and excited to share their stories with others.

All in all a very successful activity, but we still can't wait to see Tracy back at school
