When you are picking raspberries, a quart is a lot! It takes many raspberries to fill the container, especially if only every other one makes it in the container, and the other one goes in your mouth.
Friday, the rain stayed away so we could take our trip to go raspberry picking. Each child got a quart container and adventured out in the field to find ripe berries. The trick is to use a gentle touch. If you tug on the berries you will get many berries but they won't all be ripe. If you give a gentle tug, only the rip berries drop off in your hand.
And oh, they are so tasty.
